Natalie Volkman

Natalie is a physiotherapist and Clinical Pilates instructor with more than 16 years of experience. She completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne and has since worked across public hospitals, aged care and private practice in Melbourne, Perth, Tasmania and Malaysia, including more than seven years as a Head of Department. Alongside her physiotherapy training, she holds APPI Matwork and Equipment Pilates qualifications and is trained in dry needling.

Having worked closely with women’s health physiotherapists throughout her career, Natalie has developed particular experience in pelvic floor conditions and in supporting women through pregnancy and beyond, from preparing the body for birth to rebuilding fitness afterwards. She also enjoys helping people with knee pain, and the back, neck and shoulder tension that so often comes with desk-based work. Golfers and snowboarders are a favourite too, drawing on her own years on the course and the slopes.

Natalie trained alongside some of Perth’s pioneers of Clinical Pilates, and it has become central to how she works. Whatever your fitness or pain level, she can tailor a session to give your body exactly what it needs, combining Pilates principles with her physiotherapy knowledge to help you move well again. She has taught Clinical Pilates both one-to-one and in groups of up to thirteen, so rest assured, she can spot your form from across the room.

Her approach centers on active recovery: hands-on treatment, targeted exercise and, above all, education. After more than seven years leading a department, teaching comes naturally to her, and she sees it as a core part of the work, helping you understand your own body so you can feel better now and stay well into the future. Her own history with sport and injury gives her a deep, first-hand feel for movement, which sharpens her assessments and shapes the care she gives every person who sees her.

Outside the clinic, Natalie is happiest when she’s active, whether that’s playing volleyball and golf, snowboarding through winter, lifting weights, paddle boarding, sailing, or out on the floor at salsa. When she can get away, you’ll find her exploring the countryside in the camper van with her husband (and she’s not bad at a game of darts, either).
